American entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, as reported by media reports.

"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".

A Notable Television Career

Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a party host who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several well-known programs, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight series from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

A Life in Improv

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.

"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted online.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
